1. Different types of reports available according to the category (Gemstone Identification, Diamond Identification, Rudraksh Identification, Jewellery Grading and Jewellery Purity) are Verbal Opinion or Certificate. In case of Gemstone Identification, PGL International Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. (hereinafter called ‘PGL’) also offers Identification with or without treatment. So, the issued certificate will support the testing for the category requested by the customer.
2. For every category pricing is different.
3. This report reflects the finding at the time of its issuance. PGL will not be liable for any changes in its assessment due to any alterations made in the article subsequent to the issuance of its report. If the article is altered after issuance of PGL’s report, its findings are subject to change.
4. Only required / applicable tests are being performed for the identification of the gemstone / diamond (diamond grading) / rudraksh / jewellery (herein after called ‘Article’). Unless required by the customer, the report issued by PGL shall not indicate whether the article has been treated or not by any process whatsoever. The report issued by PGL is not issued for the purposes of valuation and does not pertain to the quality of the stone and/or its cutting. The said report is only limited to the identification of the specimen. PGL will conduct grading of diamond only in case the customer asks for the same.
5. In case, if there is minute filling in the specimen, advanced equipment will be required to detect treatment. Hence PGL or any of it’s personnel will not be held responsible for any discrepancy.
6. By making this report PGL does not agree to purchase or replace the article. Neither the client nor any purchaser of the article shall regard this report as a document of valuation nor as a guarantee or warranty or appraisal.
7. Opinions may reasonably vary as to the characteristics covered in this report and therefore, neither PGL nor its personnel shall be held responsible for any discrepancy which may result from the application of other testing methods or reports issued by other laboratories.
8. PGL reserves the right to change the report's contents, disclaimers, terms and conditions anytime without any prior notice.
9. PGL does not undertake the analysis of the kind of metal or the quality of the metal used in the jewellery. The weight of the metal, its karatage, weight of the mounted stones / diamond and number of stones / diamonds in jewellery (if provided), indicated in report, are as given by the client.
10. PGL determines the purity of the metal used in the jewellery based on the hallmark symbol as appearing on the jewellery and is not liable for the same.
11. The grading and testing of mounted diamonds have been done by PGL with the help of instruments and comparison stones subject to the limitations of the mounting / setting of the diamonds.
12. This Report contains only the characteristics of the diamond described herein after it has been graded, tested, examined, and analyzed (collectively, “examination” or “examined”) using the techniques and equipment used by PGL at the time of examination.
13. PGL has carried out scientific analysis and grading of the article(s) referred to in this Report, properly utilizing gemological instruments and equipment available at the time of examination. Evidence of known treatments, simulants and synthetics are detected and disclosed. However, technologies employed in treatments, simulants and synthetics are continuously evolving, hence it might not always be possible to determine the treatments, simulants and synthetics of the article using the available techniques.
14. Diamond jewellery is graded on a percentage basis. The Report will show only those grades that meet or cross the 20 % threshold of that grade. If a grade is lower than 20 % the same will not be mentioned on the certificate.
15. In case of Diamond Identification, the report is based on the results obtained through screening done using Synthetic Diamond Detector Equipment (“SDDE”). The results of this screening are entirely an output of the SDDE, where identification of natural and synthetic diamonds from a given packet lot is done by SDDE only. PGL is not liable, in any manner whatsoever, for the results given by the SDDE and as mentioned in this report.
16. Opinions may reasonably vary as per the diamond detector equipment used. Therefore, neither PGL and / or any of its personnel shall at any time, be held responsible for any discrepancy that may result from the identification done by the SDDE, and / or application of other testing methods.
17. The report issued by PGL reflects the findings on the packet lot as submitted to it and will not be liable for any subsequent changes to the packet lot at any time. Its findings will not be applicable to any subsequent changes to the packet lot.
18. PGL reserves its right on the pictures and data collected of the stone during the testing and the same shall be deemed as PGL’s property. PGL is free to use the collected data for educational, research or any other purpose. PGL is not required to take any permission or give acknowledgement to the customer for the publication of data collected from the routinely received stones for testing.
19. PGL reserves its right to declare any earlier issued report as void depending on the circumstances and under the order of laboratory in-charge.
20. PGL shall on no account be held responsible for dissimilarities and / or differences that could appear from the repeated examination or because of other methods applied or the possible inaccuracy due to the technical / mechanical defects / errors of the instruments / equipment(s) used.
21. In the event of any claim raised by the client or any other person regarding any damage or loss caused to the article, either directly or indirectly by way of the report issued by PGL, PGL’s liability shall be limited only to the amount it received as fee in lieu of the services provided by it for the issuance of the said report.
22. PGL will not be responsible for the use of the report for any other similar article.
23. Any dispute arising out of these terms and conditions shall fall within the jurisdiction of the courts at Delhi only.
